Ever had one of those days where you just didn’t feel like talking to anyone? We all have them and they’re certainly not very conducive to meeting women. These days tend to be a lot more common when we’re not feeling good, either emotionally or physically.
And our emotional and physical well being is inextricably linked with our health
When you’re really healthy you rarely, if ever, suffer from any illnesses and any emotional problems that you come across are dealt with much more easily. Consequently, your always feeling vibrant and in a positive and social state. This is why it’s critical to maintain a sufficient level of health. You’ll look better, you’ll feel better, and your relationships will be better.
But what exactly does it mean to be healthy and how can we stay that way?
Being healthy doesn’t just mean being free from illness, it means feeling fresh, energised and alive. It means waking up in the morning and thinking “fuck yeah, today’s going to be a great day”.
Once in a while we all have a day where we feel like this but it’s probably more of a rarity than it should be. I have to admit I haven’t been taking care of myself 100% lately and I can’t remember waking up too many times recently and thinking like this. However, there have been times in my life, for weeks and sometimes months, where I was feeling really healthy.
The fact of the matter is that it’s really not that difficult either. All you have to do is to focus on three basic things:
1) Eat healthily
Everyone has a pretty decent idea of what it means to eat healthily but we often choose not to do it. Eating healthily means a good intake of fruit and vegetables, plenty of complex carbohydrates (whole grains), beans and legumes, nuts and seeds. This also means cutting out the crap like red meat, excessive amounts of dairy, saturated fats, refined sugars and refined carbohydrates.
A lot of people will say that this means you can’t enjoy your food, but it’s a fallacy to say that healthy food doesn’t taste good. And, as the old saying goes:
“Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels”
2) Exercise
This is another area where we all know the benefits but we often choose not to do it. Exercising three or more times a week has a massive impact on our well being.
In particular, aerobic exercise is the best as this stimulates the cardiovascular system and keeps us energised and toxin free. Running, cycling, and swimming are all great forms of exercise, and if you have access to a trampoline that’s even better.
3) Cut down on drugs and alcohol
Everyone enjoys a drink, particularly in England, and some like to enjoy a little more. However, minimizing your indulgences in these departments will help you to feel good 24/7. And if you’re using these things to lower your inhibitions then you’re holding back your self-development. Ultimately, you should be able to let go of inhibitions without drugs or alcohol.
Anyway, in summary, take care of your health and your health will help you to take care of your love life. 😉
